Trip Cost Calculator: Fuel & Tolls Combined

This trip cost calculator gives you the full cost of a specific journey, covering fuel, Salik, Darb and parking together, not just the fuel portion.

Please enter valid, non-negative numbers, with distance and economy above zero.

Total trip cost

Fuel cost AED 0.00
Toll cost AED 0.00
Parking AED 0.00
Cost per km AED 0.00

Uses September 2026 fuel prices and current Salik/Darb toll rates — see fuel prices and data sources.

How trip cost is calculated

Fuel cost is distance ÷ 100 × fuel economy × price per litre. Toll cost adds Salik crossings × the selected rate, plus Darb crossings × AED 4. Parking is added as a flat amount you enter. Choosing round trip doubles the distance and per‑direction tolls.

Frequently asked questions

Should I enter one-way or round-trip distance?

Enter the one-way distance and use the round trip toggle — this keeps the toll-crossing count (which is naturally per-direction) matched to the right leg of the journey.

What if my route has no tolls?

Leave Salik and Darb crossings at 0 — the calculator will show pure fuel plus any parking you enter.

Why a trip cost figure needs more than fuel

A lot of UAE drivers mentally price a trip by fuel alone, because fuel is the cost you notice at the pump. But on a route that crosses even two or three Salik gates each way, tolls can add up to more than the fuel itself, especially for a short urban hop during peak pricing. This trip cost calculator adds fuel, Salik, Darb and any parking you expect to pay into one total, so the number you get actually matches what leaves your account, not just what the fuel gauge suggests.

The calculation itself follows the same logic used across every tool on this site: fuel cost comes from distance, fuel economy and the current price per litre (see today’s UAE fuel prices), while toll cost comes from how many Salik and Darb gates you actually cross and at what rate. For the exact formulas and how peak versus off-peak Salik pricing is applied, the methodology page walks through it in full, with the underlying rates sourced from the UAE Roads and Transport Authority.

One thing worth double-checking before you trust a trip cost estimate from any calculator, including this one: whether it’s counting tolls per direction or per round trip. A route with two Salik gates each way is four crossings on a round trip, not two — this calculator handles that automatically once you toggle round trip, but it’s a common source of error on tools that don’t make the distinction clear.

If you drive the same route often, it’s worth running the trip cost once for a single trip and once for a full week or month, since Salik’s daily AED 60 cap can change the maths: past ten peak crossings in one calendar day, additional crossings that day are free. This calculator doesn’t apply the cap automatically, so for a single trip it will always be accurate, but for a full day of repeated crossings you may want to check the actual total against the cap yourself.
