This privacy policy is short on purpose — a calculator site has very little reason to collect personal data, and this privacy policy says exactly what little we do collect and why.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026.
This policy explains what data DriveCarCost.com collects and how it’s used. We built this site to need as little personal data as possible.
Calculators
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter (distance, fuel economy, costs, etc.) are never sent to our servers or stored by us — they exist only on your device, for as long as the page is open.
Analytics
We use standard website analytics to understand which pages and calculators are used, so we can improve them. This may include anonymised or aggregated data such as page views, device type and general location (country/city level, derived from IP address). We do not sell this data.
Cookies
We may use cookies for analytics and, in future, for advertising (see below). You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.
Advertising
We intend to run display advertising (such as Google AdSense) on this site in future. Ad networks may use cookies or similar technologies to show relevant ads; you can opt out of personalised advertising through your browser or ad-network settings.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Contact form / email
If you email us, we’ll use your email address only to respond to you. We don’t add it to a mailing list without your consent.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you and request its deletion by emailing info@drivecarcost.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
How this privacy policy applies to calculator data
This privacy policy exists because we think a driving-cost calculator shouldn’t need your personal details to work. Every figure you type into a calculator on this site — distance, fuel economy, number of toll gates — stays in your browser’s memory for that session only. This privacy policy commits us to not logging, storing, or transmitting those inputs to any server, ours or a third party’s.
Where we do collect limited, standard analytics data (page views, general location at country level, browser type) it’s handled the same way most reputable websites handle it, and this privacy policy is written to be genuinely readable rather than legal boilerplate. If you want to understand the broader standard we’re following, the UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority publishes the federal data protection framework this privacy policy is aligned with.
Questions about this privacy policy
If anything in this privacy policy is unclear, or you want to ask what limited data we do hold, contact us directly — we read every message ourselves and will give you a straight answer rather than a form letter.
Your rights under this privacy policy
Because this privacy policy keeps data collection to a minimum, exercising your rights is simple: there’s no account to delete and no stored calculator history to request, since none of that data leaves your browser in the first place. For the limited analytics data we do hold, you can ask what we have or ask us to stop tracking your visits, and this privacy policy commits us to honoring that request the same day we receive it.
If your jurisdiction gives you additional rights beyond what this privacy policy already grants — access, correction, or deletion requests under a specific data protection law — contact us and we’ll handle it directly rather than routing you through a form.
