How Salik pricing works
Since 31 January 2025, Salik charges AED 6 per crossing during peak hours (Monday–Saturday, 6–10am and 4–8pm), AED 4 off-peak (10am–4pm and 8pm–1am) and on Sundays, and nothing between 1am and 6am any day. There is no daily or monthly cap — the old AED 24 daily cap was removed in 2013.
Frequently asked questions
Does Salik have a daily spending cap?
No. There is no upper limit on daily or monthly Salik charges — every crossing is billed individually.
Is Salik pricing the same at every gate?
Yes — all ten gates use the same peak/off-peak/free structure. A special rule applies only to the paired Al Mamzar and Al Safa gates: crossing both within one hour counts as a single charge.
Are Salik rates different during Ramadan?
Yes — during Ramadan, peak hours shift to 9am–5pm (AED 6), with AED 4 off-peak (7–9am and 5pm–2am) and a toll-free window from 2–7am.
