How fuel cost is calculated
Fuel required in litres is your distance divided by 100, multiplied by your car’s fuel economy in litres per 100km: litres = (distance ÷ 100) × L/100km. That figure is then multiplied by the current price per litre for your fuel type to get the cost.
If you choose “every day”, “every week” or “every month”, the same one‑time cost is projected across the period you chose, then scaled to daily/monthly/annual figures — so a distance you said is driven weekly is not mistakenly treated as a daily distance.
Frequently asked questions
What fuel economy figure should I use?
Use your car’s real-world average, not the manufacturer’s official (lab-tested) figure — UAE driving conditions (AC use, traffic, high speeds) typically push consumption higher. If you don’t know it, check your car’s trip computer over a few weeks, or use 8–9 L/100km as a rough sedan default.
Why does the calculator ask how often I drive this distance?
A distance driven once (e.g. a single road trip) shouldn’t be multiplied into a misleading “monthly cost.” Telling the calculator the real frequency keeps the daily/monthly/annual projections accurate.
