About DriveCarCost.com
This about page explains what DriveCarCost.com is: a free UAE driving-cost calculator platform. We help drivers work out the real cost of fuel, tolls, parking and car ownership — using published fuel prices and toll rates, not guesses.
Why we built this
Fuel prices, Salik and Darb toll rates, and the true cost of running a car in the UAE change often and are scattered across different sources. We built DriveCarCost.com to put accurate, up-to-date calculators for all of these in one place, free to use, with no account required.
How we work
Every number our calculators use — fuel prices, toll rates, electricity tariffs — comes from a named, public source, listed on our Data Sources page and explained on our Methodology page. When a figure can’t be verified, we say so rather than guessing. We don’t publish fabricated statistics, copied content, or thin pages built only to rank in search results.
How the site is funded
DriveCarCost.com is currently free to build and run with no advertising or affiliate income. As the site grows we intend to support it through clearly disclosed affiliate links, display advertising and automotive industry partnerships — see our Affiliate Disclosure. Any such link will never affect the accuracy of a calculator result.

Who is behind DriveCarCost.com
DriveCarCost.com is run by a small, independent team based in the UAE — drivers and developers who got tired of guessing what a commute, a tank of fuel or a year of car ownership actually costs. Nobody on the team is a paid spokesperson for a fuel company, a toll operator or a car brand, and none of our calculators are sponsored to produce a particular number.
Who uses DriveCarCost.com
New residents working out their first UAE car budget, daily commuters comparing routes across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and drivers deciding between a petrol car and an EV all use our tools before making a decision that affects their monthly spending. Because everything is free and needs no sign-up, you can run a quick check before a trip or a full ownership comparison before buying a car — without handing over an email address first.
Our commitment to accuracy
Fuel prices, Salik peak-hour rates, Darb gate charges and DEWA electricity tariffs are reviewed every month, and any calculator that relies on a changed figure is updated the same week the new rate is announced. If you spot a number that looks out of date or wrong, the fastest way to help is to message us through the Contact page — every correction is checked against the original published source before the page is updated.
Where we’re headed
The six calculators live today are the starting point. Next up are tools for comparing lease versus finance costs, insurance premiums by vehicle category, and a side-by-side calculator for weighing a used car against a new one over a five-year ownership period. We’re also expanding the Blog and News sections with UAE-specific driving-cost guides, so bookmark the site or check back — new coverage is added regularly as we build out the platform.
That’s the short version of about DriveCarCost.com — an independent, UAE-focused calculator platform built by people who wanted honest numbers before we wanted a business.
More about DriveCarCost.com’s sources
Every calculator on this about DriveCarCost.com summary page links back to a verifiable, official number — Salik and Darb rates come from the operators’ own published tariffs, and fuel prices match the UAE Fuel Price Committee’s monthly announcement, the same source cited by the RTA. We’d rather send you to the primary source than ask you to take our word for it.
The short version of about DriveCarCost, one more time
If you only read one section on this about page, make it this one: DriveCarCost.com exists because working out what a car actually costs in the UAE meant checking three or four different sources and doing the maths by hand. We built the calculators so that step disappears, and we keep the numbers current so the answer stays trustworthy month after month rather than being accurate only on launch day.
Every claim made on this about page is checkable elsewhere on the site — the sourcing practices described here are documented in full on the methodology page and the data sources page, and the correction process mentioned above runs through the contact page. We’d rather a visitor verify what we say about ourselves than simply take our word for it.
